For The Love of Birds

The Big Year 2016

Welcome to my (casual) Big Year 2016! Here I will list in numbered order all unique bird species (including subspecies where I deem relevant) I see, hear and/or photograph over this year. The date and location is included and only the common name will be written. Let’s see how many birds I get!

My personal rules:
– If I am 100% on identification upon only sighting a bird, it doesn’t necessarily need to be photographed, however I am endeavouring to get pictures of all new birds
– Similarly, if the bird is not seen but a bird call is heard and I am absolutely positive of the species then this will also count
– Must be seen, heard and/or photographed in the wild. No birds from wildlife parks, zoos or domesticated pets

* indicates introduced species
# indicates a bird that I’ve never seen in the wild before
